Many of the toys and related merchandise were released on the same day, and stores used the opportunity to have midnight release parties for fans who simply couldn’t wait. Last year, the crazed final weeks leading up to the release of The Force Awakens officially kicked off (from a retail perspective) on Force Friday. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story may not come out until December 16, but the wave of merchandise is about to hit.
